“There is nothing worse than a sharp image of a fuzzy concept."
-Ansel adams
It is through my work with nature that I want to bring the experience of moments missed, unseen or otherwise lost to obliviousness to others for that they may see something more.
It is through my work with people that I learn humility and teach self appreciation.
It is through my lens that I work to improve my skill and provide you something exceptional.
"The camera is an instrument that teaches people how to see without a camera."
— Dorothea Lange
A little about me
01.
i'm john
A Coloradoan by birth, an Oregonian by adventure, an explorer by heart,
and a father by grace.
02.
Relationship with nature
I love nature and adventure. My youth was spent hiking, camping, and going on road trips, and today not only do I capture it in photography, I also work with nature in storytelling, research and K-12 education.
03.
Photography
If nature is my first true love, and family my second one, photography is my love language and how I am able to share that love with others and future generations, especially those I may never meet.
04.
Origin story
I picked up photography as a way to remember everything I got to see when I would adventure aimlessly into the world. Later I used it to create educational materials and discovered that I can share my perspective in many ways with many people.
